Last night was our first PTA Meeting – Committee Sign ups. If you were unable to attend but would like to volunteer with a particular committee, below is a description of committees that still need your help. Please reach out to the committee chair if you are interested in helping this year.

Football Parking: This committee coordinates the sale of annual football parking passes at Barrow and helps staff the parking lot before and after home UGA football games. Due to our proximity to the UGA stadium, this is our largest fundraiser of the year and pays most of the costs for all 5th graders to participate in the 5th grade trip to Skidaway Island (several nights away) and all 4th graders to participate in the 4th grade trip to Blue Ridge (overnight).

Media Center: Our amazing media specialist wears many hats and serves our school every day in many ways. This committee is full of volunteers who help shelve books, repair books, set up for book fairs and assist Mr. Plemmons in tasks that would otherwise keep him from being able to teach. Committee members can help one time or on a regular scheduled basis. First book fair week of Oct. 11th.

Safe Routes: This team works to encourage healthy, eco-friendly alternatives to daily driving to school. On the first Friday of each month, Barrow holds a ‘Safe Routes to School’ day. The group does a ‘walking school bus’, provides snacks, visits by UGA athletes and incentives for students who bike and walk.
